How to require explicit agreement to booking terms and conditions in Exely Booking Engine

At the data entry step, in the "Payment methods" section, a guest can view the online booking rules and privacy policy. By default, the guest sees a notice and links to the rules and privacy policy:


This means that by proceeding with the booking, the guest automatically agrees to these rules and privacy policy.

However, legislation in some countries may require the guest's explicit consent to the data processing. For this purpose, Exely Booking Engine offers a check-box option. The guest must tick the check-box to confirm their agreement to the terms and conditions.


If the guest does not tick the check-box, they will not be able to proceed to the next step and will see a red banner "Please accept our terms and conditions".


To enable the check-box for your property, please send a request to your Exely account manager or to the Exely support team.


Note. Enabling the consent checkbox adds an extra step for guests, which may impact booking conversion rates. Our Booking Engine aligns its features with data protection laws, including GDPR, but the decision to enable this feature is yours. As the data controller, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of applicable data protection laws.
