Section 30(2)(b) of the Companies Act 2016 of Malaysia requires every registered company to display its full registered name and registration number on:
the company's official website;
social media pages;
business documents and emails.
This information must be visible and easily accessible to users.
The main purpose of this requirement is to ensure transparency and consumer protection by allowing any user to verify the legitimacy of the company.
Non-compliance with this requirement can result in a fine of up to RM 50,000, imprisonment for up to three years or both.
To ensure that our customers in Malaysia, who use Exely Hotel Website Builder to build websites for their properties, can comply with the law, we have added a mandatory field to collect and display the registered company name and registration number.
To add the registered company name and registration number to the website, in the Exely extranet, go to “Website builder” > “Content management” > the “Local law in Malaysia” tab.

Check the registered company name and registration number and tick the “I confirm that I have a registration and would like to add my registration number and registered company name of the company to the site” check-box.

Click the “Save” button at the top of the page. Then, publish the website.

The registered company name and registration number will be displayed at the property website
