How to create a perfect promo image for a rate plan

Last update: Sep 25, 2025

A promo image is a key visual element that helps attract attention to your rate plan or special offer. However, an image that looks great in your design software might not display the same way in Exely Booking Engine, especially on smaller screens.

To make sure your visuals look sharp and effective everywhere, here’s what you need to know.

How images are displayed on different devices

On Desktop:

  • Maxi height: 480 pixels

  • Width: Automatically adapts to the screen size

  • Important note: Images are scaled proportionally that can lead to cropping on the sides. Besides, a title banner appears over the bottom 15%, which may cover part of your image.

On Mobile:

  • Max height: 272 pixels

  • Important note: Because of the portrait layout, mobile screens crop the sides heavily. Typically, only the center of the image remains clearly visible.

Best Image Resolution

For the best results, upload your promo image at 1440 × 540 pixels. This resolution is optimized to display well on both desktop and mobile without getting blurry or awkwardly cropped.

Promo Image Design Tips

What Works Well:

  • Keep the focus in the center: Place the main subject or key visual element in the center of the image.

  • Set the mood: The image should evoke emotion and reflect the vibe of your offer — not explain it. Go for clean, expressive visuals that tell a story at a glance.

  • Use "safe zones": Leave about 15% of empty space on all sides. This gives the image room to breathe and protects important elements from getting cropped.

What to Avoid:

  • Don’t add text to the image: Don’t place rate names, prices, dates, or contact info y on the image. All textual information should be added to the rate plan description.

  • Avoid important content at the bottom: The bottom 15% of your image may be covered by a title overlay, so don’t put logos or crucial visuals there.

  • Steer clear of clutter: Complex images with multiple focal points don’t work well, especially on mobile. Keep it simple and impactful.

A compelling promo image is more than just an attractive visual. It’s a strategic tool that sets the tone for your offer, helps your brand stand out, and keeps users engaged. Stick to these simple guidelines, and every image you upload will work hard for you, looking sharp and professional across all devices.
