Automatic payment charge for bookings from distribution channels with PayConnect

Payments only for new bookings created after PayConnect was connected for a property can be automatically charged. All bookings created before PayConnect was connected remain unchanged.

Payments are automatically charged strictly in accordance with the rules set in the OTA rate plan.

  • For bookings with a bank card guarantee, the prepayment amount and date are defined by the rate plan. Funds are charged at the moment the free cancellation period ends, which helps to reduce the number of refunds for the property. If a booking is created at a non-refundable rate plan and the rate plan allows charging any amount at any time, 100% of the booking cost is charged immediately upon creation.
  • When virtual cards (VCC) are used, payments are charged according to the OTA policy and usually on the guest’s check-out day at 12:00 property local time.

If a booking is modified, the amount to be charged is recalculated automatically. In this case, the prepayment parameters of the rate plan that were valid at the time of the latest booking modification in the OTA are applied.

If payment for a booking eligible for settlement via PayConnect was made in Exely PMS using another method (cash or any other method), payment for that booking is not charged automatically. In this case, the system assumes that the property accepts the payment manually. If necessary, the property staff can still make the payment manually. For details on how to make manual payments, refer to the article "PayConnect bookings for review".
